Danielle Humphreys and her husband Andrew reached out to The University of Scranton SBDC in April 2018 for help starting a dog daycare business in Hamlin, Wayne County. Keith Yurgosky, SBDC Business Consultant, worked with the Humphreys to go over the process of starting a business, writing a business plan, creating financial projections, and obtaining financing. SBDC celebrated with them at a long-awaited grand opening event in September 2021.

But then, on top of learning her studio was scheduled for demolition, COVID-19 put a halt to in-person classes. Dunn needed help. Dunn used the money to build a spacious new studio as well as pay rent, utilities and payroll. To help sustain her client base, Dunn began offering livestream and outdoor classes.
