RURAL DEVELOPMENT

The Puppy Patch, The Doggy Day Care That Grows and Grows

The owner of The Puppy Patch, a doggy daycare center in Annandale, NJ, Linda Wisniewski, has always had a passion for dogs and, in 2002, left her office job to turn her passion into a business. The Puppy Patch began small as a mobile pet-sitting company, then opened its doors in 2006.

Linda, a client of the NJSBDC at Raritan Valley Community College since 2004, reached out to Regional Director Bill Harnden for all stages of development and implementation. She credits Bill and his team with gaining enough confidence to think, "Maybe I can do this."

The Puppy Patch has steadily grown, increasing its annual revenue/staff, from $79K and four employees in 2006 to $564K and 15 employees.
