Dr. Sara Kates-Chinoy and Dr. Lindsay Baum saw a need for providers in the community of Cascade Locks and opened Grain Integrative Health, a naturopathic healthcare center providing a wide range of holistic and natural healing modalities individualized to patients’ needs. They were introduced to the Columbia Gorge Community College SBDC, which worked to help them prioritize and manage the work related to their grant funding, identify appropriate DEI training programs, and secure PPP and EIDL funding. They have also taken advantage of the SBDC’s professional services program to get specialized training in grant-writing and have created new marketing assets through partnering with a local professional photographer and marketing team.
