She worked with advisor Stephen Knight to acquire funding through the Tulsa Economic Development Corporation to open a store front location.

A longtime client with the SBDC through previous ventures, Tara has participated in the Oregon SBDC’s small-business management program, SCALE Oregon, and received services from the Market Research Institute and the Global Trade Center. With her inherent business savvy and the SBDC’s resources, Tara took solid steps toward expansion while navigating the COVID-19 pandemic. MELTAR Supply now has multiple stocked locations and direct-ship options; is WBE, DBE, and SBE certified in Oregon; and also has similar certifications through the SBA and WBENC in several states nationwide.

This year, the Pohnpei SBDC partnered with the International Office of Migration, and the US Embassy for a project called "Inspiring Women's Advancement Through Collective Action Program" or IWA. IWA is a program that seeks to remove barriers for women and implement gender equality in the Federal State of Micronesia. A series of financial literacy workshops and business counseling were held with 18 attendees which resulted in 3 startup businesses.
